We had the pleasure of meeting Michael Hill (Dog Hill) approximately 1 year ago. He was highly recommended to us by the groomer who facilitated (Pet Rescue) our adoption of a 10 week old Coonhound mix.
At the time, Buddy was a very energetic, difficult to control, for that matter, impossible to walk around!! We had the wheels in motion to return Buddy to his 'foster family'. Buddy was adding more stress to our hectic home.
Michael Hill began with basic training. Teaching us how to take control of Buddy. Mike's approach was calm and assertive. He gave us the confidence to believe that Buddy could become a positive addition to our family. He taught us how to walk Buddy and how to get him to follow basic commands. More importantly, he educated my family on the basics, specifically that a high energy dog like Buddy needs to be able to get consistent exercise and that this would lead to a calmer, more enjoyable dog. This was key!
Michael Hill accompanied us to off leash dog parks. There he educated us on the basics such as how to enter and leave the park, how to recognize playful versus aggressive behavior. Buddy just loves to go to the dog run and I am no longer nervous taking him.
Michael Hill takes Buddy on his "Run with the Pack". This ensures that our dog gets the necessary exercise during the week. It is obvious that Buddy loves going off with Mike and the other dogs and he clearly benefits from the exercise and interaction with the other dogs.
Michael is dependable and has never missed a commitment. He has watched Buddy when we were away on vacation. Buddy was certainly well cared for.
In all sincerity, if it wasn't for Michael Hill/Dog Hill, Buddy would no longer be part of our family. We now have a nearly 2 year old Coonhound and look forward to having him for many years to come. Our boys think Buddy is 'the best dog in the world', and you'd have trouble convincing them otherwise. (We think Mike is the best!)
